Apple iBooks

I finally got “A Ghostly Tail” submitted to iBooks for $1.99, AND changed the price on “The Missing Boston Terriers of Smith Street” to 99 CENTS.  I’m not sure how long it will take for these to show up in their store, but keep checking back.

Meanwhile, the new prices are effective right now on Kindle and Nook.  The paperback versions are still $7.99 and $8.99.  Darn those paper companies, wanting money for actual trees!

Still, if you’d like signed copies and save money on shipping and tax (unless I have to mail the books to you), I have them for $5.50/ea.  Contact me at nancy@nancylucas.com.

The impossibility that is Apple iBooks

Well, if you can access your spreadsheet and remember which Apple ID and password you use for iBooks, good luck.  I can’t even figure out where to go to login, much less change the price.  For a straightforward-looking website, looks are deceiving.  I need to hire a spreadsheet and password manager.  I spend ALL my time trying to login places.  Grrrr….

It’s a memoir, it’s a satire, no, it’s fun!

I was trying to think of the best way to describe my books (2 so far, 5 in all soon).  I think of them as memoirs, cataloging and chronicalling my neighborhood, the people and dogs.  Yet, it is also a satire, ragging on Charleston’s failing infrastructure.  But it’s also humorous, entertaining my friends’ children.  The adults get a good laugh, too.  A good combo.  Plus, it’s illustrated, which makes it even better.  If per chance a “real” publisher should pick us up, the cartoons have been created in color.  It’s too expensive for moi to publish the physical book in color on my own at CreateSpace.com.  Fame and fortune are nearly upon us; looking forward to 2012!

Whew… Monday again.

Well, it’s Monday after t-day and I’ll be skipping lunch.  Mumma has left the house and Miss Wanda is on her way.  I had a fun day yesterday eating fried chicken and motorboating out to Morris Island.  It was a perfect day for run on the beach!

It’s my birthday!

I am 10 years old tomorrow, Thanksgiving day.  The nibbling will start in the AM when friends come over to cook.  We printed menus today and the fixin’s look like good eats!  I don’t speak Italian, but that’s what this looks like to me.  MMMMMMMmmmmmm.
