Hello…

Hi – I’m trying to figure out how to put the Twitter feed in the right hand column and not in the posts.  Sorry about that.  In other news, yes, I see my Kindle version is not pristinely perfect.  I have learned there is a Kindle converter plugin for Adobe InDesign CS5.  So, if Kindle version is out of commission for a day, it’s because I uploaded a new file.  Please be kind!  Palmetto bug?

Available now at Barnes & Noble’s Nook e-reader

The Missing Boston Terriers of Smith Street                                                        written and illustrated by Nancy T. Lucas

is now available on Nook!

This is the first in a series of 5 Springer Spaniel Mysteries.  Ages?  8 and up?   Fun for the whole family!  Think Winnie-the-Pooh’s older brother on a darker adventure with a Springer Spaniel and a possum:

From the book:

“Scout wanted to continue down Coming to Logan and Tradd Streets, but Chisolm was tempted by the market place.

Scout snorted.  “That’s a gross touristy place that smells like horse pee.”  Scout did not want to admit he was terrified of horses.

“No, there are restaurants and children who drop food.  It’s a cornucopia!  A smorgasbord!  A veritable buffet!”  Chisolm danced in a circle.” – chapter 6

I’ve ordered a paperback copy of the proof from Amazon.com which I need to confirm before it is available there and then Kindle.  Hopefully next week!  Today I have to chase down Lulu.com to find out my status at Apple’s iBooks.

The cover and description

Here’s the cover:

And the back flap:

An inspiring tail of courage.

Scout is an only dog and sometimes lonely.  But he has some dog friends in his neighborhood and when a pair of Boston Terriers go missing, it’s up to Scout to search Charleston peninsula’s storm drains and sewers to rescue them.  Along the way he encounters a terrifying boa constrictor, some unkind wharf rats and a chatty possum that’s obsessed with food. Don’t forget to pack your sense of humor and some extra palmetto bug snacks for this adventure!

Nancy Lucas lives in Charleston, SC.  Scout is her favorite Springer Spaniel and she insists on writing silly stories about his capers.  Stay tuned for the second tail in the Springer Spaniel Mystery series, “A Ghostly Tail” where Scout and his friends persuade a ghost dog bully that all is well and there’s no reason for him to scare others.
