“The Missing Boston Terriers of Smith Street” is the first in a juvenile series about a Springer Spaniel dog detective named Scout, who does his canine sleuthing in Charleston, South Carolina. Scout knows all or most of the dogs in his neighborhood, but he tests his knowledge, his doggy network of friends, and his nose in his madcap search for the lost Boston Terriers, Ike and Clyde, whose reward poster his Mumma reads to him. A canine search of the Charleston peninsula’s storm drains and sewers takes Scout to some rather interesting, even unsavory places. Fortunately he is resourceful and alert, and able to enlist the assistance of such unlikely friends as Chisholm, a talkative possum who adores chocolate and snacks. After a few scary encounters with sewer rats, a boa constrictor, and a full dunking in the river, Scout manages to rescue Ike and Clyde and snag them a safe ride home. Even a Doggy party is part of the action in “The Missing Boston Terriers of Smith Street!” This series, with five proposed comic illustrated volumes to come, promises to be enticing to comic canine mystery lovers age 8 and up.

Goodreads.com

OK – check out goodreads.com if you haven’t already.  It is big fun if you love to read.  A useful social network for readers and authors.  I learned about it in the Wall Street Journal last month when they ran an article on self-publishing.  My blog posts will post over there on my author page and I just uploaded both books to sell at GR in e-formats, 99 cents and $1.99.  Yes, A Ghostly Tail IS more, 30 cartoons, which is 10 more than the Missing Boston Terriers of Smith Street has :) Cheers!

Apple iBooks

I finally got “A Ghostly Tail” submitted to iBooks for $1.99, AND changed the price on “The Missing Boston Terriers of Smith Street” to 99 CENTS.  I’m not sure how long it will take for these to show up in their store, but keep checking back.

Meanwhile, the new prices are effective right now on Kindle and Nook.  The paperback versions are still $7.99 and $8.99.  Darn those paper companies, wanting money for actual trees!

Still, if you’d like signed copies and save money on shipping and tax (unless I have to mail the books to you), I have them for $5.50/ea.  Contact me at nancy@nancylucas.com.

The impossibility that is Apple iBooks

Well, if you can access your spreadsheet and remember which Apple ID and password you use for iBooks, good luck.  I can’t even figure out where to go to login, much less change the price.  For a straightforward-looking website, looks are deceiving.  I need to hire a spreadsheet and password manager.  I spend ALL my time trying to login places.  Grrrr….
